Geographic browsing

Useful boating regions without pretending borders are exact.

Cruising-area, country and local-area filters help boaters narrow the map. They are practical browsing aids—not navigation limits, jurisdictional boundaries or verified postal addresses.

Cruising regions

Regions are approximate coastal or marine envelopes such as the Caribbean & Bahamas, Mediterranean, Great Lakes and U.S. & Canada Atlantic. Some overlap intentionally.

Countries and local areas

Published coordinates are compared with Natural Earth country and state/province boundaries. Near-coast matching may be used when a point sits just offshore.

All waters

All waters always includes every available listing, including places outside curated regions or without a confident local-area assignment.

Sources

Geographic groupings use Natural Earth 1:10m public-domain country, state/province and marine-area datasets. Nearby populated places and postal centroids use GeoNames data under CC BY. Marina coordinates remain those of the underlying listing; grouping and enrichment do not alter them.

Important limitations

Administrative levels differ by country. Coastal tolerance, simplified polygons, island grouping and postal centroids can identify a useful approximate area that is not a verified legal or street address. Confirm addresses and navigation information independently.
